The Lodge Reimagined!
The iconic Bounding main Ranch Lodge 53-acre property is one of the oldest buildings at The Sea Ranch. It was designed to serve a central role as a cultural hub for the community, housing a postal service role, country sales office, and information centre for new visitors. After serving its initial purpose, it was expanded into a hotel.
In late 2018 The Body of water Ranch Lodge was acquired with the intention to fulfill the vision of the original developer and group of architects. Respect for the land and the stewardship of it, sustainability for The Sea Ranch and beyond, also as the desire to create a gathering place for all Sea Ranchers motivated them to brand the purchase. Over the next 3 years they fix near thoughtfully restoring the Southward Building to its original dazzler and are about to embark on a renovation of the guest accommodations and guest experiences while passionately maintaining the vision and alignment of the dazzler of this place sincere, well intentioned and focused on the time to come. The aim to accelerate the early on vision fix forth and, as Lawrence Halprin in one case said, and be the "shining keepsake of what a community can become."

Communal dining is a quintessential human experience. With that understanding, we merely must serve smashing food. In-flavour, locally sourced with quality ingredients, and impeccably prepared – for tiffin and dinner. We'll be a gathering identify for the community and guests in a fresh and new space that honors the legacy of the Order, while tantalizing the palette with flavors that celebrate the compensation that the area has to offer – from lush produce to the freshest grab. We aim to offer fair and outgoing pricing – inviting locals regularly and inspiring visitors to brand the trip – and to serve meals with the warmth and care of existence in someone's home. Our bar is the literal middle of our building, and with stories seeped into its historic walls (and more to be made), we're thrilled to have our bar and lounge be the social center of The Sea Ranch one time again. Nosotros envision this equally an easygoing, intimate space to enjoy a drink and small bites, with a focus on regional fare with particular attention to the season. On peak of being the best identify for a sip and a snack, we'll be planning for fun. At our cozy bar or in the fireside lounge and solarium with views onto the Pacific, we plan to utilize this incredible space to host jazz nights, winemaker events, lecture series, trivia nights, and more. Because no great trip is complete without a good loving cup of coffee. Simply within our doors, conveniently located next to the General Store and the Mail Office, we'll have a casual Café offer freshly roasted Sea Ranch Coffee (think Blueish Bottle goes to Sea Ranch), aromatic teas, smoothies, juices, and quick and salubrious breakfast and tiffin offerings, equally well as picnic-gear up takeaway options. Whether guests adopt to take hold of something on the get, or to linger in the solarium or the meadow but below, our Café will be serving a wonderful carte du jour of seasonal treats. The General Shop
The Full general Shop at the Club is meant to serve equally exactly that: a delightful and convenient shop to pick up essential supplies and sundries that assist to make people's fourth dimension at Sea Ranch enjoyable and memorable. From outdoor essentials to accept on your day trip on the coast to keepsakes for those just passing through, the General Shop will be a space to celebrate and support our local makers, and a place for all visitors to notice swell books and products that reflect the of import history of The Sea Ranch and its surrounding areas.

History
Living lightly on the land

The visionary Al Boeke, builder, assembled a stellar grouping of architects and design professionals. For epitome buildings the architectural house of Moore, Lyndon, Turnbull, and Whitaker was hired to design Condominium One along the bluffs and architect Joseph Esherick to blueprint a cluster of houses nestled in a hedgerow. Lawrence Halprin, landscape architect, studied the topography, weather, and vegetation that inspired the original master program. His vision was based largely on the historical and ecological customs.
The original designers evolved a concept of dynamic conservation of 'living lightly on the country.' A covenant would enforce stewardship of natural resources through an owners' association of residents who felt an instinctive human relationship with the surroundings.
Meant to be experienced as much every bit to exist spelled out, the concept of 'living lightly on the land' starts with respect for nature. Each landscape element should exist recognized and nurtured, reinforcing natural forms and scale. The specific site provides the identity, establishing a 'territorial partnership' with any structure placed inside it, not upon information technology. Building materials should exist drawn from nature: rough and unproblematic.
